Organization Directory

Welcome to the Student Organization Directory!

With more than 180 student clubs and organizations, there truly is something for everyone at SUNY Geneseo.

A college-registered Student Organization is any student-driven group whose primary membership and entire leadership consists of students enrolled at SUNY Geneseo; is formed in order to contribute to the students' personal development and the advancement of the College Mission; is non-credit bearing; and is officially registered with the Department of Student Life.

Full registration does not imply college endorsement of the positions and views of any organization. Rather, it implies that the institution accepts the organization’s mission as educationally valid and that the organization has complied with institutional registration and continuing registration procedures.

Full registration with the College does not permit the organization to act in the name of the university, to represent the university, engage in any contractual obligation in the name of the university, nor represent the organization as being an official part of the university.

Korean American Student Association

The Korean American Student Association is a cultural club that is dedicated to educating and uniting those on campus who share an interest in Korean culture. We hold two annual events, one per semester, to help share Korean culture in an engaging and unique way. Our fall event is Running Man, which shares a name with and takes inspiration from a Korean variety show. Participants work in teams to complete mini games and gain the most points out of all teams playing. In the spring, KASA hosts K-Night, our cultural dinner. It is the biggest event of the year for us, complete with dinner, dances, skits, and a fashion show that is all written and performed by KASA members.

Anthropological Association

The purpose of this club is to create a space for individuals interested in the field of anthropology to connect with other students through meetings and group events.

Hillel

Hillel at Geneseo is a place where Jewish students can find their home away from home. Hillel is committed to providing a pluralistic, egalitarian, and inclusive community for Jewish college students, where they are encouraged to grow intellectually, spiritually, and socially. We have weekly Shabbat services and dinner in addition to other religious, social, and educational events.

History Club

The History Club is a student-run social and academic organization known for organizing lectures, peer advisement sessions (for class registration), faculty panel presentations on the graduate school application process, trips and weekly discussion or game night meetings. Its purpose is to encourage the pursuit of historical research and interest, to provide an understanding of current events through an understanding of their historical basis, and to provide an opportunity for students to share their historical interests through lectures, discussions, and trips.

SUNY Geneseo Film Club

SUNY Geneseo's Film Club is an organization in which Geneseo students interested in filmmaking as an art form, film history, impact of film, classic and upcoming film, as well as film as it applies to current events. It will be a safe space for students to enjoy their interest with as little or as much film knowledge as they may have, and to do so without fear of judgment from peers. Our main goal as a student organization is to create a fun and creative environment for students to expand their knowledge of film and make new friends with the same interests. There should be something for all students in Film Club.

Physics & Astronomy Club

The purpose of the Physics & Astronomy Club is to bring members of the Geneseo community together and to enrich the recognition of physics in everyday life. We host a plethora of events to promote scientific enthusiasm in the campus community; these events include (but are not limited to) research presentation nights, physics game nights, and a physics picnic held each year with the Geneseo Physics Department. In addition, we collaborate with other science organizations on campus (i.e. the Geology Club).
